ZDDT facilitates training for Bulawayo councillors




BULAWAYO – Departmental Heads and other top City Council officials recently attended a training workshop at the well appointed Motsamai Lodge, in Bulawayo’s leafy Hillside suburb.

Local Trainer Keith Hayward facilitated at the two day event, which had been organised by national, hands-on community restoration body, ZDDT.

Funding for the course was made available by the German Government and international relief agency GTZ/BMZ. The exercise’s objective was to create awareness of the fundamentals that entail service excellence.

This included the instilling of a culture amongst key City administrators that would adequately embrace this concept.  

Mr. Hayward, renowned for his responsive teaching technique, noted that besides being participative, attendees demonstrated awareness for the necessity to provide good services.

He added that they had responded well to the training.

Mr. Hayward suggested that there exists room for further training which would hone the skills acquired by those who had attended the course.

 


DDT Leadership Management Skills Training


In another skills training excercise key City officials were recently afforded an opportunity to sample the excellent responsive training technique of local consultant, Helene Ireland, at a workshop held in Bulawayo.

The one day course, titled, ZDDT Leadership Management Skills Training, was organised by the Trust, while its funding was made available by international humanitarian aid agency GTZ/BMZ, in conjunction with the German Government.

The training’s objective was to arm key local authority officials with requisite leadership and management skills, besides availing them of the added capacity to utilise these effectively.

Speaking soon after close of business on the course’s final day, Ms. Ireland expressed satisfaction at the level of participation and comprehension demonstrated by attendees. She noted that participants displayed excellent responsiveness to training.

Motsamai Guest Lodge, a hostelry of superb standing in the City’s south eastern suburb of Hillside, played host to the workshop.
