The Member of Parliament for Bulawayo South, Hon. Nicola Watson, visited the Sizinda Community Garden to learn more about the project and how it is improving the lives of the local residents.

The market garden membership is largely made up of women and youth and provides a source of income and food security for 117 beneficiaries and their families by cultivating various crops such as spinach, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and carrots.

Hon. Nicola Watson was impressed by the work being done in the garden and commended the beneficiaries for their hard work and dedication.

She said that the garden was a model of community empowerment and sustainable development that should be replicated in other areas. She also pledged to assist the beneficiaries of the garden where possible, especially in accessing markets and inputs.

She said that she would consult with the relevant authorities and stakeholders to ensure that the market garden receives adequate support and recognition.
