The Wards of Bulawayo have been grouped into 6 zones, according to their proximity to one other, to allow for easy movement and interaction amongst members of the same zone.

The Zone Assemblies, which will be held on a monthly basis, will address issues that affect the Wards, to chisel solutions and map a way towards sustainable developmental growth.

They provide a two-way information highway which engenders the spirit and principles of ownership, responsibility and people participation.

"The idea of Zone Meetings is a very good idea. Some people might be failing to carry out certain projects because they lack ideas, but these meetings will make the sharing of ideas easy and thus will motivate people to work. In short, we welcome it as it will bring positive development to our communities through communication among ourselves as zone members," said the Councillor for Ward 25 (Nketa 9), Edward Ndlovu.
