Zim Alloys Doubles Output


In a positive development, Zimbabwe Alloys Chrome Limited says it had doubled monthly output during the first quarter of the year, buoyed by a $1 mln capital injection by shareholders early this year.

The firm ceased operations in 2008 due to lack of capital, but resumed operations last year.

Zim Alloys production manager Jabulani Chirasha said monthly output now stood at 600 metric tonnes. He said the capital injection was used to upgrade plant machinery - Herald, Thursday April 25

Egyptair Resumes Harare Flights


Egypt's national carrier, Egyptair, resumes flights between Harare and Cairo in June after a nine year absence, and is offering a 20% discount on ticket purchases between April 8 to 30 and travel between June 1 and 21. The airline will deploy a 144-seater Boeing 737-800 to make four weekly flights on the route starting June 1.
