As one walks into Jeritah Siziba’s home in Pumula South, what is striking is how a relatively small living room has been turned into a vibrant workshop where no less than four women are using their hands to create truly sublime artistic dresses, handbags, and bead work of different kinds which they sell to benefit their families.

BULAWAYO - Named Ekuphumuleni, which in the Ndebele language translates to Place of Peace, this Geriatric Nursing Home does indeed exude an air of tranquillity about it. In fact, it has the usual characteristics one would expect to encounter at such a place. Yet that is where similarities with institutions like it end.
