Bulawayo - The recently held Mabutweni residents meeting, attracting people from Ward 13 and beyond, roared to life when the group of the moment, Amazing Stars, began staging a show that set an excellent awareness campaign alight.
Amazing Stars, who excited the full to capacity Mabutweni Hall, delivered their message on curbing littering around the townships and also promoted a theme on the causes of climate change.

The event, which was graced by the constituency’s legislator, Joseph Tshuma,
Ward 13 Councillor Lot Siziba Ward 24 and guest Councillor Gideon Mangena, from Ward 24, became the first of its kind this year.
Siziba praised ZDDT for their idea of introducing theatre as a means of communication to deliver messages to the people. “I will take this opportunity to applaud our partners in development of Bulawayo wards, Zimbabwe Development Democracy Trust and their friends, for keeping us alive.
This organisation has been doing a lot of developmental programmes around our City and townships, as you can see. We have the drama helping us with communication in our wards, courtesy of ZDDT,” said Councillor Siziba.

The legislator for Mpopoma-Pelandaba, Mr. Joseph Tshuma, also applauded ZDDT and their partners for their efforts in restoring hope to the residents.
“I am glad that we have organisations that uplift the community spiritually and practically. Now that you have such partnership, you need to unite and compliment what ZDDT has been doing, so that they will spread their efforts to the entire province,” said Tshuma.
He also encouraged the gathering to desist from tribal differences and emulate ZDDT’s works. “Let’s now build our Bulawayo with this organisation that is fighting poverty. This organisation has proved beyond doubt that they are here for development and improving our lives. Please Councillors Siziba and Mangena, push hard and keep up the good work,” he added.
