Mandlakhe Garden Members Trained in Conflict Management and Resolution

Mandlakhe garden members were trained in conflict management and resolution recently, to build trust between the gardeners, so that they are responsible for day-to-day operations of their garden.
Zimbabwe Democracy Zimbabwe Development Democracy Trust (ZDDT), Election Supervisor, Amon Makoni, said tackling conflict in a fair and impartial manner, and following a clearly understood way of doing things for Mandlakhe Garden, helps members to work together in unity and harmony.
“The Conflict Management Workshop looked at what conflict is, its causes and effects including how to resolve it. Overall workshop objectives were achieved” he said.
“Participation was very impressive, and the general mood was fantastic. All 42 members were present, including all interim committee members, and Alderman Hlabano, Yvonne Berkhout, from ZDDT, were all present. Great enthusiasm was. exhibited by participants as they could see it was beneficial,” Makoni added.
Meanwhile, the Elections Supervisor Makoni has completed the drafting of the constitution for Mandlakhe garden and said the plan is to roll out the process step which will be the adoption of the constitution, followed by elections.
“Having a constitution paves way for holding democratic elections which would be fair, free and credible. The document contains electoral guidelines which will usher a Project Management Committee to run the affairs of the garden. This breeds orderliness and unity of purpose towards the achievements of objectives,” Makoni added.
According to Makoni, the results obtained in a voting referendum which was conducted at Mandlakhe Market Garden is as follows:

In terms of Article 9 para 1 of the Mandlakhe Market Garden, the constitution is hereby ADOPTED with a supporting of 30 Votes which translates to more than two thirds majority
Mandlake garden is currently benefiting seventy family units from Emganwini township.
