In a spirit of partnership and community growth, the Bulawayo City Council (BCC) Social Services Representative, Sihle Mabhena, recently engaged with members of Green Gardens, Sizinda, underscoring the importance of strong administration in sustaining community initiatives.

She highlighted the council’s role in maintaining structured records for all market gardens across the city, ensuring accountability and efficiency in their management.

With eloquence and care, she stressed the value of producing and implementing constitutions for each garden, noting that these living documents not only guide operations but also serve as a compass for good governance.

Sound conflict management, she added, was vital to preserving harmony and ensuring that the gardens remain flourishing spaces of cooperation and productivity.

Mabhena further emphasised the significance of the enduring partnership between BCC and ZDDT, describing it as a cornerstone of the social contract that binds council and residents together.

This collaboration, she affirmed, is not merely administrative, but transformational— creating an environment where communities are empowered to manage their shared resources with transparency, responsibility, and unity.

The gathering was more than a meeting; it was a reaffirmation of trust, a celebration of cooperation, and a clear reminder that when institutions and citizens walk hand in hand, the seeds of sustainability and progress take root in the very heart of Bulawayo.
