Kirimuva market garden recently held a vibrant and well-attended fundraising event aimed at raising money to drill a second borehole, an essential step in increasing water supply and improving vegetable production.
The colourful gathering took place at the garden site where neat rows of green crops provided a fitting backdrop for the day’s activities. Delegates from the Minister’s office, Bulawayo City Council, ZDDT, and several local journalists were in attendance, showing visible support for the community’s efforts.
The atmosphere was warm and enthusiastic as garden members confidently explained how improved water access would help expand production and boost income for families involved.
"This is a public outcry for help and assistance in tackling poverty. Leli linxusa lendlala, kindly join hands with us as we thrive to be self-sustaining through market gardening," said Sam Ncube Kirimuva garden chairman in his welcome remarks.

Other local gardens also attended in solidarity, creating a strong sense of unity and shared purpose.
The event highlighted how sustainable agriculture can thrive when communities work together toward common goals.
With the funds raised and continued collaboration, Kirimuva Garden is hopeful that the second borehole will soon become a reality; opening the door to greater harvests, stronger livelihoods, and long-lasting community empowerment.
