The “train the trainers” concept within the a value-addition cooking programme, a partnership between the Zimbabwe Development and Democracy Trust (ZDDT) and Sally Foundation, aimed at adding value to the trust’s various community gardens in the city, has been completed.

Zimbabwe Development Democracy Trust (ZDDT)’s partnership with the Bulawayo City Council (BCC) in a number of developmental projects in the city, continues to bear fruit.
In a rather rare occurrence in Zimbabwe, Bulawayo Mayor, Martin Moyo, who chairs all monthly chamber meetings, recently recused himself from a session which discussed an application by a local restaurant to extend working hours.
A total of 60 women from the African Methodist Episcopal Church’s Women Missionary Society (WMS), mobilised themselves and embarked on a clean-up campaign, which saw them clean the EF Watson Clinic, situated in Bulawayo’s Mpopoma Township, in Ward 9.
Betty Sibanda, a Ward 15 Community Action Team member in New Luveve, said the ZDDT/Sally Foundation value-addition cooking programme has given them knowledge that they will use for life as mothers, adding she does not regret having participated in the special training.
