Following the initial success of their high-impact initiative, Woodville-based 3rd Millennium Trust have launched Phase Two with support from Zimbabwe Development Democracy Trust (ZDDT) and Sally Foundation.

The 3rd Millenium Trust aims at empowering impoverished young mothers escaping abusive backgrounds through programmes that promote self-sufficiency

The first phase, which focused on building confidence and fostering community spirit through group horticulture, yielded significant positive results.

Building upon this foundation, Phase Two will expand the project’s scope by introducing more land under drip irrigation, further enhancing agricultural productivity.

This expansion is expected to have a cascading effect, bolstering food security and improving nutritional intake for the participating mothers and their families.

The increased availability of produce will not only ensure consistent home consumption but also create opportunities for income generation through surplus sales, thereby contributing to economic self-sufficiency.

ZDDT's High Impact initiative, underpinned by the Sally Foundation's commitment, continues to demonstrate the power of targeted resource allocation in achieving sustainable and impactful change within vulnerable communities.

By focusing on practical, community-driven solutions such as horticulture, the programme empowers young mothers to rebuild their lives, fostering resilience and long-term well-being.
