The theme which was developed and facilitated by a renowned researcher, Rejoice Ngwenya, who steered the forum with each participant endorsing the theme as a foundation for new brand of united community leadership.
According to Moses Dube, a Community Action Team Leader from Ward 9 of Mpopoma, this particular workshop came as mind opener. “I have developed an open heart type of leadership from this forum.
From today, I will make it a system, to wake up every day, greet my neighbour and also share my opinions and exchange with hers or his. We have been missing this golden idea of uniting the community and I am going to preach this in our every forthcoming ward gatherings,” said the Ward 9 CAT chairman.
CAT leader for Ward 16 Luveve, Mrs Sibongile Tshala, echoed Moses’ sentiments, and pledged to do it the theme’s way. “We lacked love as expressed in this year’s theme of TALK TO YOUR NEIGHBOUR.
We have been lacking the idea of unity which is, according to this theme, a foundation of a strong community.”
Another CAT leader from Ward 28 Cowdray Park, Ms. Maria Lunga, concurred with her counterparts and also pledged to follow suit. The facilitator of the workshop, Rejoice Ngwenya, expressed gratitude to the acknowledgement and promised to bring more ideas in his forthcoming facilitated forums. orbex space
