Bulawayo Grandmother's Home-Based Bakery Takes Flight
Tshala, a mother and grandmother, is a beneficiary of several of ZDDT’s developmental forums, among them, Leadership Skills, Conflict Management, to mention just two.
Tshala, who is proud of her current project, was ecstatic and revealed how her home based bakery is taking care of both school fees and rates for their Luveve family.
“I am a proud product of ZDDT’s many developmental workshops, and would like to openly declare that the Ideas Forum training that I attended, led to the improvement of the project and which is now the financial backbone of my family.
“I am into cake making, scones and muffins, with ingredients obtained locally and from neighbouring countries. I have become the supplier of many weddings and birthday cakes for the community and the entire Bulawayo,” said Sibongile.
The proud, hardworking mother also attributed her success to sharing ideas with neighbours, one of the subjects she said she adopted from a previous ZDDT community forum. The CAT member told ZDDT News that the Ideas Forum and Strategic Planning workshops are her gateway to this self-employment. She said that she will not miss any of the Trust’s forthcoming events.
Through the policy of encouraging self-reliance, ZDDT supports enterprise in the community.
