Magwegwe High School is strengthening its agricultural programme through improved ZDDT High Impact irrigation support aimed at nurturing sustainable farming practices and boosting food production.

The school, situated in Bulawayo’s sprawling townships, has received drip irrigation equipment to strengthen its existing agricultural garden, improve water efficiency, and promote sustainable food production within the school. The support is expected to help learners and teachers improve vegetable production and reduce water consumption while providing practical opportunities to develop essential agricultural skills.

The installation of drip irrigation will enable the school to deliver water directly to each plant, minimising wastage and supporting more efficient crop growth. The initiative also reinforces the importance of school gardens in promoting agricultural education, environmental sustainability and food security, while encouraging learners to embrace innovative farming methods that can benefit their households and communities.
