A transformative youth initiative led by Uncommon in Sizinda township is harnessing the power of digital innovation to create fresh opportunities for young people while inspiring meaningful change in the wider community.
The Sally Foundation-funded Innovation Hub at Sizinda’s Green Gardens has opened new doors for twenty (20) young people by equipping them with essential digital skills in an economy grappling with high unemployment.
Created and run by Uncommon, the initiative provides laptops, uninterrupted internet access and practical digital training, empowering school leavers to explore employment and self-employment opportunities while building a brighter, more independent future.
Established to cater for those who may not have excelled academically, beyond developing their own skills, the trainees are giving back to the community by teaching computer skills to children at surrounding schools, extending the benefits of digital literacy to younger generations.
By combining accessible technology, practical learning and community service, the Innovation Hub is nurturing a generation of digitally empowered young people with enhanced life skills, who can turn limited opportunities into meaningful pathways towards economic independence and self-empowerment.
