New Leadership Performance Assessment Programme Introduced

In the programme, Bulawayo's Community Action Team (CAT) members are invited to witness Full Council Chamber Meetings from the Public Gallery, noting how their Leaders represent and present their views, concerns, needs and challenges to the Local Authority (LA).

To mark the beginning of this programme, representatives from 3 CAT’s attended the First Full Council Chamber Meeting.

They applauded the new programme, saying it gives them more insight as to how the LA operates and on the duties and responsibilities of the city fathers.

“I like the way the ZDDT operates. This programme is very welcome as it will enable us to understand our City Council better and to testify to the other residents on the quality of our leaders, in terms of how they present our issues to other Councillors and the City Council,” said Mr Moses Dube of Ward 9 (Mpopoma: Cllr Charles Moyo).

This programme will enhance the Trust’s existing mechanisms and channels of analysing, monitoring and evaluating the impact of its interventions, such as Leadership, through its Local Authority Capacity Building Programme.
