Ward 22 councillor donation

BULAWAYO – While many other Nkulumane residents are able to get by in these difficult times, 54 year old Viola Lunga has been trapped in abject poverty.

Identified and vetted by the ward based CAT, her plight was brought to the attention of the local Councillor.

Thanks to ZDDT, Sally Foundation and a local company, Freight Consultants, all of whom have partnered in the Business Social Credit Scheme (BSCS), someone has now come to her rescue.

Viola, who is a widow and unemployed, is looking after her four mentally challenged children, all of whom are in serious need of food and clothing.

Viola prayed soon after receiving money from Councillor Jele, “Thank you Lord for ZDDT,” she said. She told ZDDT News that she is going to use the $50 which she received, for food and payment of her rates arrears with the Bulawayo City Council.

ZDDT’s partnered BSCS is an initiative aimed at bringing relief to the disadvantaged and is a key element of the Trust’s social responsibility programme, drawing the local business fraternity closer to the community.
