ZDDT Brings Councillors and Skyz Metro Together

BULAWAYO – Zimbabwe Development Democracy Trust (ZDDT)’s ongoing engagements, with councillors and other stakeholders in the city on information dissemination, has given birth to a working relationship between the city fathers and a local commercial radio station, Skyz Metro FM.

Sometime last year, ZDDT organised a Zone Meeting (pictured above) in which the importance of information dissemination was tackled at length.

It was in that meeting that a representative from Skyz Metro FM complained that councillors were not forthcoming with information and not also willing to be interviewed by journalists.

During the meetings, councillors were encouraged to take advantage of the local radio station and inform the public what they are doing in the city.

It is interesting to note that since then, councillors have been stampeding to the radio station wilfully offering themselves to be interviewed in the now poupular Vuka-Vuka daily radio talk show.

Issues affecting Bulawayo residents are adequately covered in the programme.
