Additional Development for Emganwini

Alderman Mr Norman Hlabano, the driving force behind the successful and now well renowned Greenfields project, has made noticeable progress on a new garden project at Emganwini.

In a chat with the Alderman, he said they have put a technical committee in place, which will push forward the venture towards the operational stage when vegetable production begins.

“We have completed all the requirements by the Bulawayo City Council. We have made payments for town planning site pegging, Zimbabwe Water Asuthority (ZINWA) application, council lease and months’ rent. Zimbabwe Development Democracy Trust (ZDDT) also contributed USD 100 to complete water divining. Since we have done all these developments, there will be a ground breaking ceremony this week so that we start working on the project,” said Cllr Hlabano.

ZDDT’s primary motivation for the programme is to generate the mindset of self-help and self-sustainability in combatting poverty.
