Bulawayo City Council workers to be kitted out with new protective gear
BULAWAYO - A local protective equipment company, WKS Enterprises Matebeleland (Pvt) Ltd., handed over the first consignment of various items of protective wear in a brief presentation ceremony recently at ZDDT’s office, Suburbs.
The equipment will be worn by City Council workers involved in activities during the second phase of a ZDDT initiated greening campaign, supported by The German Government in conjunction with development agency, GIZ.
Activities in the initial phase entailed cleaning, planting trees and establishing nutritional gardens, while Phase 2 will deal with grass cutting and clearing brush in the City’s various parks, open spaces, road verges and islands. It will also involve rehabilitation of aging and dilapidated public lighting systems. The cleaning component from the first phase will be retained in the second.
