Bulawayo service delivery: Are we improving your City?

The Programme currently running in the City of Bulawayo, is aimed at improving service delivery to local residents. This initiative, in its initial stages, entails the demonstration of new grass and brush cutting equipment recently donated to the City by the Trust.

These demonstrations, characterised by prominent displays of banners, together with City work groups clad in bright orange protective wear, are conducted at busy road intersections, in order to afford the campaign optimum exposure. The Trust’s media component uses these demonstrations as an opportunity to sound out public opinion on their awareness of the initiative and whether they feel it is contributing to success in improving levels of service delivery by the Local Authority.

Evaluation points at the meeting concentrated on the demonstrations’ shortcomings and achievements, while measuring impacting influences that the overall initiative is having on the targeted enhancement of service delivery levels.

Development partner GIZ, cooperating with the German Government, are the Programme funders.
