Zimbabwe Development Democracy Trust Signs MoA with Bulawayo Projects Centre
The two parties have the same vision, principles and goals of uplifting the status of informal traders in order to improve their livelihoods and contribution to revenue flow and the national GDP, as is stated in the preamble of the MoA.
“We, above parties, come together with the common purpose of uplifting the status of informal traders to a functional, regulated business sector within the metropolitan province of the City of Bulawayo, with each party playing a different role according to their institutional mandate, collectively complementing each other in the pursuit of our collective aim and objective.”
As part of the agreement, BPC will identify licensed informal traders, with whom they are going to conduct a basic Micro-MBA course.
ZDDT, on the other hand, will be responsible for working with the Local Authority in drafting and formulating a Small Business policy and lobbying for the necessary licenses for the informal traders.
The Trust will also build official workable and productive networks of Councillors and City Council officials and in the process facilitate the allocation of vending stalls in close consultation with the Local Authority.
