Bulawayo Community Projects: It's Full Steam Ahead

This was evident when ZDDT Field Correspondent, Ntando Sibanda (NS), recently covered a clean-up campaign in Ward 24 (Nketa 6, Nketa 8 and part of Nkulumane 5), and spoke with a few residents that included Beatrice Mthupha (BM) and Veronica Banda (VB).

NS: What has made you to come and participate in this clean-up campaign?

BM: I am a member of the health committee in this ward and we sat down as a committee, together with ZDDT’s Community Action Team (CAT), and came up with a resolution that, if the other residents see us working, they will eventually join us and, most importantly, they will stop disposing of litter illegally.

NS: What do you seek to achieve by taking time off your busy schedule and coming to do this voluntary work?

VB: I was driven by the desire to keep our environment clean because I believe that, by so doing, we are protecting our children and ourselves from various diseases, such as cholera. I think, as residents, we should take it as our duty to keep our surroundings clean.

This was the first major clean-up campaign, in the city, after the highly disputed July 31th elections. Real free porn movies https://exporntoons.net online porn USA, UK, AU, Europe.

Apart from picking up litter, the CAT’s were also educating the residents on the importance of properly and legally disposing of litter, which is a clear indication of the positive impact of ZDDT facilitated training on leadership and communities taking of ownership and safeguarding resources.
