Sebenzela, A Spiritual Motivator

Bulawayo, Zimbabwe: Sebenzela-Shandira Zimbabwe, ZDDT’s theme on community developmental programmes, has been described as a spiritual motivator and originator.

This was revealed during a Bulawayo Projects Centre Youth Expo and Exchange programme that was held at the Bulawayo Presbyterian Church recently.  

Addressing guests during the expo, Mr. Maxmillian Moyo, who is the organisation’s Co-ordinator and Business Advisor, praised ZDDT for inspiring Bulawayo on the subject of environmental cleanliness.

“I would like to publicly say this to you; ZDDT has been spreading the word of smartness and keeping our city clean. This organisation has been involved in the ‘clean the city’ campaigns which we always support, as we sometimes accompany them in this noble cause,” said Moyo amid a roaring applause from the youths.

He added that Sebenzela-Shandira Zimbabwe was a leading spiritual motivator, as those from other towns, who have visited Bulawayo, have developed the spirit of cleanliness.

His sentiments were echoed by another, Pastor Ncube, who left the guests in stitches, when he said, “I was in Harare two months ago and I had to walk a long way with my empty plastic bottle after a drink because there were few bins. I had to look for a bin as per the ZDDT spirit of a litter-free nation.”

Susan Ryce, Bulawayo Projects Centre’s Director, applauded youths for getting involved in self-help projects to earn a living. She also told youths to emulate all organisations, including ZDDT, for preaching the spirit of self-help and creating their own employment, without looking for someone to provide income. Sebenzela-Shandira Zimbabwe’s programmes have delivered a clear message tocommunities to keep Zimbabwe clean, and it would be a mission accomplished if enough of Zimbabwe’s population joined the fight against the dreadful scourge of litter.
