Bulawayo's Nutritional Garden Vendors Welcome Arrival of New Water Tank

Bulawayo – Ward 27 vegetable vendors recently hailed the installation of the new water tank at the ZDDT nutritional garden in Pumula South.

The hawkers were visibly delighted by the water tank’s delivery to the Ward 27 Day Care Centre and Nutritional garden last week.

They said the development was a rescue package to overcome the water storage predicament at the garden and went on to say that the asset must be protected by the local community.

“This is a blessing for us Pumula vegetable vendors as the tank has brought hope of a successful vegetable market. We were worried by the situation of this garden’s flip flopping on supplying us with their rich vegetables,” said Mrs. Annah Chauke a vendor.

“We really need this garden to prosper, because it will save us from travelling to the main market in the city centre. We have been buying our vegetables here and this must now be our own vegetables centre,” said Seluseyinkosi Tshuma.

ZDDT’s gardens have brought significant relief to both the garden members and their partners, the local area vendors who now save up to $30 per month on transport to and from the city centre based markets. In return, the vendors provide a ready-made market for their produce – win, win situation!
