In an effort to put a final nail in the coffin of the few remaining offenders who destroy their environment, including unrepentant litter bugs, Ward 24 Community leader, Cllr Gideon Mangena has established a twelve member policing team that will be taking decisive action against every resident found dropping any form of litter in the area.
Councillor Mangena delivered the message during the residents’ awareness campaign, which was attended by an enthusiastic crowd at the Nketa shopping Centre.

The community leader boldly announced to the cheering crowd, that littering must come to an end immediately.
“We have come to the resolution that anyone who will be found throwing litter in our ward will be arrested and will be instantly taken to the police to pay a fine. Let me again warn those who are not taking this seriously that you will pay dearly for causing any dirt,” he told the crowd.
Councillor Mangena also took advantage of the Amazing Stars theatre to deliver the message which was clear on the negative effects of littering.
