In a heart-warming gesture of support, Mr Ndebele and Ms Khumalo, two impoverished individuals from Bulawayo Ward 11 are this month’s recipients of the ZDDT Social Business Credit Scheme.

The handover ceremony, conducted by Ward Councillor Mrs Sithole, was marked by expressions of gratitude from all three individuals involved.

The ZDDT Social Business Credit Scheme identifies disadvantaged members of the community in dire need and aims to uplift them by providing them with relief from the challenges they face in their daily lives.

During the handover ceremony, Mr Ndebele, 89 years old, who stays alone and is partially blind, expressed his gratitude, saying, "I am truly grateful for this opportunity. With the assistance provided through the Social Business Credit Scheme, I will be able to pay for medical bills and also get a few food items."

Ms Khumalo, also 89 years old and stays alone, was overwhelmed with joy, adding, "I survive by food aid from my neighbours and selling of recyclable plastic which I have to gather from the rubbish dump site. I have not eaten in two days and am immensely thankful for this gesture."

ZDDT News immediately took her to the local shops, where she could purchase food and shoes as she walked barefoot.

Ward Councillor Mrs Sithole, who played a vital role in facilitating the handover, expressed her satisfaction with the initiative, stating, "The ZDDT Social Business Credit Scheme is a remarkable programme that brings hope and opportunity to those who need it the most. I am proud to be part of this initiative and witness the positive impact it has on individuals like Mr. Ndebele and Ms. Khumalo."

The ZDDT Social Business Credit Scheme continues to make a significant and positive difference in the lives of the less fortunate in Bulawayo and is supported by Sally Foundation of Australia.
