In a display of entrepreneurial and community spirit, students of the ZDDT Horticultural School conducted at KGVI, have rallied together to host a successful fundraising food sale.

As part of their value addition class, these young green thumbs put their skills to the test, whipping up an array of delectable treats that flew off the shelves by the end of tea break at the school.

The students channelled their creativity and culinary talents to produce an impressive spread, including freshly baked doughnuts, savoury samosas, hearty lasagne, and fluffy popcorn. With each sale, the young business-minded scholars quickly realised the fruits of their labour.

"This fundraising sale has been an incredible learning experience for us," shared Christine, one of the students. "Not only did we get to showcase our value addition skills, but we also gained valuable insights into the business side of things. Managing the production, pricing, and sales has truly sharpened our entrepreneurial mindset."

The funds raised from this successful endeavour will be directed towards a worthy cause – the purchase of blazers for the junior council members representing the disabled in the junior parliament. This gesture of support and inclusion has been warmly received by the community.

"We are truly grateful for the hard work and dedication of these students," said Victory Mashiza, a junior council member of parliament. "The funds raised will make a significant difference in ensuring our representatives are outfitted with the proper attire to proudly advocate for their
peers. This initiative is a testament to the compassion and community spirit of the Horticultural School."

Through their entrepreneurial drive and commitment to making a difference, these students have not only enriched their own learning experience but have also positively impacted their community.
