In an earnest ceremony marking a significant transition, Green Gardens recently hosted a handover event following the successful elections of its new committee.
The event, which took place in the community garden, provided an opportunity for local gardeners to meet their newly elected leaders while honouring the achievements of the outgoing committee.
The gathering was attended by garden beneficiaries who came together to celebrate not only the democratic process but also the commitment shown by all involved in maintaining and enhancing Green Gardens. The outgoing committee shared their reflections on their term, highlighting key milestones such as improved garden facilities and increased community involvement.
"We are proud of what we have accomplished during our time in office," said outgoing chairperson, Mr Njiva. "Our focus has always been on fostering a sense of community and ensuring transparency in our operations. We are thrilled to pass the baton to such a dedicated group."
As part of the handover process, members of the new committee were introduced to attendees, allowing gardeners to familiarise themselves with their new leadership team.
The event underscored a commitment to transparency and collaboration as both outgoing and incoming committees reaffirmed their dedication to making Green Gardens a vibrant hub for horticultural enthusiasts.
