Women Lead the Way in Garden Success

A delegation from the Zaka Mutevere Irrigation Scheme recently visited Green Gardens on a fact-finding mission and was met with an inspiring display of community-led development, driven predominantly by women.
Of the garden’s eight-member committee, six are women who have played a central role in its growth and transformation.
The women proudly showcased the progress made within the garden, including improved infrastructure, structured planting systems, and consistent food production. Beyond the garden, they shared how their involvement has improved their households’ food security and livelihoods, proving that women’s empowerment translates to stronger, more sustainable communities.
Encouraging their visitors, the Green Gardens team emphasised the importance of including women in leadership roles for success.
At ZDDT, we are proud to support such impactful initiatives, where women are not just participants but key drivers of change and development.
