14 new vehicles delivered to City of Bulawayo
Buoyed by excellent relations and a Memorandum of Understanding it shares with the City Council, Team ZDDT, represented by officers, Simon Spooner and Lewis Jones, joined the gathering of invited guests at the function.
Delivering a speech, acting Mayor, Cllr. Amen Mpofu, Ward Two, said that the vehicles, procured under a long lease agreement with a local car dealership, was a step in the right direction in the City’s quest for quality service delivery systems.
He urged residents to pay their dues to the Local Authority in good time in order for this goal to become a reality.
“With these new vehicles residents are assured of getting value for their money,” said Cllr. Mpofu. He added that ideally, the Council wished to keep the age of its fleet of various vehicles under the ten year mark, saying that the latest delivery was the first batch meant to replace the City’s aging fleet of service ‘work horses.’
