ZDDT business credit scheme helps single mother in Bulawayo send her son to school
Cllr E Ncube expressed these positive sentiments at a Business Social Credit Scheme (BSCS) handover ceremony at his home recently, where a 6 year-old boy, Adrian Moyo, who is in Grade 2 at a near-by primary school, received a donation of $40.
“We would like to thank ZDDT and its partners very much for continually standing by our side during these tough times. I have seen this child eligible to receive this donation, as he has not been going to school due to the lack of funds to pay his fees. He lives with a single mother and does not know his father who passed away some time ago,” Cllr E Ncube said.
The $40 donation is a result of a partnership between ZDDT and the business community. The Trust tasks Councillors to identify and vet needy beneficiaries and then handover the donation in the presence of the local donor. One of the city’s leading IT companies, Compupro, is a regular contributor and one of its representatives attended the function.
BSCS is one feature of ZDDT’s leadership training programme which enhances the people skills and positive image of locally elected Councillors.
