Bulawayo Businesses Extend Help to Two Impoverished Families
BSCS is a plea by the Trust to businesses to pay back the community by monthly donations that will be handed over to worthy beneficiaries who have been identified and vetted by Councillors and Community Action Teams.
The first beneficiary is Rita Phiri (88), who is being looked after by her 64 – year old daughter, Esnath Dube.
The two, who now look like sisters, broke into song and dance as a way of expressing their gratitude for the gift.
The second recipient is also an 88 - year old lady, Esnathi Ncube, who is blind and is also looked after by her daughter, Ettie Ncube (54).
These families eke out a living by gathering and selling firewood and also farming in their little fields.
They both said that they will buy groceries with the donated money.

“I am very grateful for this donation. May God bless you all by giving you more so that other people who are suffering like me can also benefit. I will immediately ask my daughter to send someone to buy food and other necessities for us,” said teary – eyed Rita Phiri, before hugging her Councillor and breaking into song and dance.
The local leader for the area, Cllr Sithabile Mataka, identified and vetted these beneficiaries before the handover ceremony.
They were selected among thousands of equally deserving families from the highly impoverished community that appears remote rural as it has neither electricity, running tap water nor sewage.
This month’s donations were made possible by Freight Consultants, who are a well known shipping and clearing agent based in Bulawayo.
