Councillor Zana has been at the helm of Ward 19 for the past two terms, after the community in his ward requested for his services and leadership to be extended.
“This is just the beginning of another crucial hardworking period for my ward, as I am scanning through the correctional lens as to where I missed the target,” said the outgoing Councillor of the Year, Councillor Zana.
The community leader, who was holding the trophy before handing it back to ZDDT for this year’s Councillor of the Year ceremony, told this journalist that his ward is already working hard to regain this most prestigious award that recognised this team performance ahead of 28 other contenders.
“I was shaped by Sebenzela-Shandira Zimbabwe so I am not worried because, when you lose a competition, it means you will have missed a few marks, so I am going to do the best I can to win back the prize,” said Councillor Zana while posing for the picture at his office with the trophy in his hands.

The award is to recognise sound principles of leadership and solid performance as exemplified by positive activity on the ground and, with it, provide for motivation for the spirit of volunteerism.
The “community contest” is still a tight run race.
The final announcement of this year’s winners and runners up will be announced in December, at what promises to be a colourful ceremony to be held in honour of the best performers.
