Bulawayo – Ward 9’s Community Action Team leader and Chairperson, Moses Dube, is one of Bulawayo’s most dedicated sons and Sebenzela-Shandira Zimbabwe’s best graduates.
Dube, who has was crowned the best Community Action Team leader of the year last year, has been the holder of this prestigious award to date.
He told ZDDT News at his base in Mpopoma, that he is hoping to retain the award come December.
“I know I have been working flat out and spiritually, as this ZDDT award is not brought in a silver platter. I have been moulded and brought up by the organisation which is why I trust myself in community self-motivational projects,” he said pointing at Mpopoma Park.
“I have been moving around the whole of Ward 9 and fighting to restore it to its former glory of the 1970s. I have managed to improve almost all corners of this ward, with the assistance of my mentors, ZDDT,” he said.
Dube, who was proudly displaying the trophy, together with several of his other awards at his Mpopoma residence, has been enthusiastically working hand in glove with his Councillor, Charles Moyo.
“I would like to openly tell you of my excellent relationship with my councillor, who has also been my close partner in improving the lives of the vulnerable in our ward,” said Dube.
The two have since designed their roster on their working shifts to serve the Mpopoma community, which has benefited from their rehabilitation initiative.
The two community leaders have been delegating duties in an effort to cover as much of their constituency as possible.
Councillor Moyo commended CAT leader Moses Dube for his efforts in voluntarily working for and with the community made up of all income levels.
“This man is one of the motivations behind my success, as you can see from how we communicated before your arrival.
This is how we work; respecting each other and Mr Dube is one of the best volunteers to be found in Bulawayo that I will not be surprised that he is going to win us back this prize come December,” said Councillor Moyo.
