The ‘on-site training’ organised by the Trust as a step to solve disagreements caused by poor communication, and to teach ‘compromise’ amongst the garden membership, was a success.
The evidence of the results was felt during the training, as all members adopted the word ‘Compromise’.
The training carried out by Gardner Ndlovu, a private consultant, had the undivided attention of the project beneficiaries as peace was order of the day, during and after the workshop.
The interactive training was attended by the Councillor and Community Leader, Councillor R Matengu, and his Community Action Team.
“We have been born again as garden membership, because I have learnt that only unity and love can improve all relationships. I have gone deeper and beyond this garden after this conflict management training, as I am also going to improve on loving my family,’ said Banda.
Another member, who also donated two fruit trees to the garden expressed gratitude for the conflict management training, saying this has brought love to the community project’s membership.
“We are now calling ourselves one, as this training has brought confidence in us as a united community, and will speak with one voice for the betterment of our success,” he said.
The garden’s two elderly women, Mrs Nyoni and Mrs Ndlovu, broke into a song, commending the Trust’s facilitation of the conflict management training.
“Let’s all have love, let’s all love each other, let’s all build together and rehabilitate our home, as this will improve our lives! If we love each other, like doves, we will be winners in everything we do!”
This song was sung and performed during the workshop, and all members who were participating, agreed to the values of the song.
Soon after the workshop, all members agreed to be at the project daily, as they said they now want to work as ‘bees’, with a united partnership.
