Bulawayo’s youngest councillor, Mlandu Ncube, who represents Ward 1 in the city, says he has, over the past five years, learnt that a good leader is one who allows people to give direction.
A total of 11 sitting Bulawayo councillors, including the mayor Martin Moyo, all of whom are long term beneficiaries of ZDDT leadership training, were recently appointed as aldermen at a colourful ceremony attended by many from across Zimbabwe’s second largest city.
Kirimuva Garden, one the five supported by the Zimbabwe Development Democracy Trust (ZDDT) with funding from Sally Foundation and Global Development Group (GDG) of Australia, has started supplying lettuce to one the country’s leading supermarket chains, Pick n Pay.
Ward 1 Councillor, Mlandu Ncube, a beneficiary of ZDDT’s leadership and community mobilisation training, says the trust has, over the past five years, made his work much easier.
