The Sizinda market gardeners in Ward 21, recently donated $50 worth of spinach, chomoulier, and spring onions to the Ingutsheni Central Hospital in Bulawayo.

This Sally Foundation, GDG and DAP of Australia, as well as residents, collaborated in developing the two hectare Zimbabwe Development and Democracy Trust's (ZDDT) market garden project in Sizinda.

"Because the hospital didn't have a vehicle to pick up, Edward, Sam, and I went ahead and made the delivery. This has opened our eyes for all of us," said Yvonne Berkout, the ZDDT horticulturalist, adding that the hospital currently feeds 670 patients four times a day, with lunch and dinner being the two meals where vegetables are most needed.

Ingutsheni Central Hospital is the biggest mental health referral facility in the country that offers specialised, high-quality mental health care.
