The curtain fell on a momentous evening as the Geraldine Roche Arts Academy (GRAA) held its inaugural end-of-year show, marking a groundbreaking event that fused entertainment with crucial educational themes surrounding teenage pregnancies.

The performance, a masterpiece of creativity and insight, captivated the audience, generating both laughter and tears as it bravely tackled a subject often swept under the carpet in societal discussions.

Feedback from attendees indicated that the performance not only entertained but also educated and stimulated critical conversations.

"Tonight's performance was incredibly moving. It opened my eyes to the realities that many youths face today — I think it is essential for more people, especially in our community, to hear these stories," expressed Rosa Moyo, a parent of two teenagers.

The narratives presented during the show served as a clarion call for awareness, empathy, and dialogue about teenage pregnancy. As the issue continues to loom large in Zimbabwe, the GRAA used the platform occasion to advocate for youth empowerment and the importance of community discussions surrounding comprehensive sex education.

In addition to addressing pertinent social issues, GRAA took the event as an opportunity to unveil its latest initiative aimed at nurturing and advancing art skills among the youth.

The GRAA Animation Production initiative is set to kick off in early 2025.

The programme will focus on training opportunities designed to develop the budding interests of young artists in the field of animation—an innovative move aimed at diversifying the talents and creative outlets available to the youth.
