Climate change campaigner and Bulawayo City Councillor receives environmental care award
The accolade was presented by another Civil Society Organisation, Gender Links, at its annual convention in Kadoma recently. Gender Links mainly focuses on development that is gender sensitive and ending gender based violence and inequalities.
“I would like to thank ZDDT for coming on board with all these interventions because, without it, I would not have won this award. Later this month I will be travelling to South Africa to make the same presentation to all the delegates there,” said Cllr Khoza beaming with jubilation.
ZDDT established and monitors nutritional gardens, constantly and consistently, as a form of empowering marginalised groups in society, including women and building servant leadership values. The Trust also initiated a tree-planting project, as a means of combating the negative aspects of climate change.
