Restoring Zimbabwe's second city to its former glory

Their dedication and commitment to this cause was exhibited in the recently held June 2012, City of Bulawayo Full Council Meeting, where the issue of improved garbage collection and pet control took centre stage.

The councillors applauded the Cleansing Department for improving refuse collection from once a month to fortnight in the western suburbs and weekly in the eastern constituencies.

20 Councillors attended the chamber meeting and 90 percent of the attendees actively participated. Deputy Mayor, Cllr Amen Mpofu, chaired.

The Trust attends these municipal assemblies on a monthly basis, and uses them as a yardstick to assess the progress and impact of its interventions in enhancing the capacity of Local Government through its Local Authority Capacity Building Programme.
