A Special ZDDT Christmas

“I would like to thank ZDDT, and its partners, for this kind and noble gesture. I would also like to thank Cllr Dube for choosing me, when there are many people who are in the same situation as I am, now my family and I will have something for Christmas and we are very grateful for this. May God bless you all and give you more, so that you can continue and help more people in the communities,” said one of the recipients, Mrs Loveness Mlilo.

Loveness Mlilo is a widow who lives with her 4 children and a grandchild.

They are all unemployed and rely on piece jobs, such as ploughing people’s fields, for a living.

The second beneficiary is 18 year-old Anita Mahlangu, who is an orphan and lives with her grandmother and 11 siblings and cousins.

She will be proceeding to form 4 in Nkulumane High School next year, where she is being helped by the Government, through its Basic Education Module, to pay her school fees.

She will buy uniforms, books and Christmas clothes with the donation.

Getrude Moyo (41), who is a widow, also benefitted from the scheme and will use the funds to buy fruit, vegetables and other merchandise for resale, so that she can be self-sustaining and then be able to afford to buy groceries and other household goods for her 3 children.

She is unemployed and relies on relatives and other community members for food and other necessities.

Getrude also washes people’s clothes, does household chores and ploughs fields to earn a living.

These donations were made under the auspices of ZDDT’s Business Social Credit Scheme, which is a programme that has united local businesses with the Local leadership and the residents.

The programme has, since its establishment, been supported by Compupro and Freight Consultants, who have been making donations every month.
