Bulawayo Councillors Boost Leadership Skills
Bulawayo, Zimbabwe: 21 Bulawayo City Councillors, who attended last week’s workshop on strengthening leadership skills, praised ZDDT for helping improve their capacity to lead their people.
“I would like to applaud ZDDT as they walk the talk and also displayed to us that they are an action oriented team that do not talk only but lead by example,” said Ward 20 councillor Earnest Rafomoyo.
His sentiments were echoed by those of Ward 26 Councillor Norman Hlabano, who honoured the organisation for equipping community leaders with knowledge.
“I am humbled by the efforts displayed by our Trust in moulding us to be better leaders and administrators through their workshops that have become my university of life strengthening.”
Ward 2 Councillor, Sithabile Mataka, said, “My youths now came first in the recently held Geraldine Arts competition as a result of my leadership skills acquired through several skills training from ZDDT.”
She has become a ‘people person’ and this helped her to motivate participants in a ward where public participation is generally low.
The workshop was sponsored by Konrad Ardenauer Foundation and was supported by the Country Director, Jurgen Langen and his Programme
Assistant, Winnie Tshuma. Also attending were, His Worship, the Mayor of Bulawayo, Councillor Martin Moyo and SA’s former Executive Mayor of Cape Town, Herman Bailey, who motivated Councillors with his lively, inspirational and informative presentation.
