ZDDT in Phase 2 of induction workshops programme

With the exception of Masvingo South’s Gerry Whitehead, indisposed with other commitments, officers from Matebeleland North, Matebeleland South and Midlands participated.

The Bulawayo Office was represented by Simon Spooner the National Development Officer, Candace Cope, our Administration Officer, Bruce Mtengwa our Bulawayo PDO, our Communications Officer Vanessa Ktistakis, and Lewis Jones our Field Reporter.

The 2 day event was held at Boma Conference Centre, situated in tranquil settings at the magnificent Hillside Dams Conservancy, a 10 minute drive from the City Centre.

Proceedings on Day One comprised a welcome and introductions session, followed by a lecture on the Trust’s background and its work among local communities, presented by Simon.

Candace then took participants through the intricacies of accountable administration as the Organisation’s Administrative Officer. Issues relating to the importance of efficient communication, reporting and office management were handled by Vanessa in the early afternoon.

Lewis, with the assistance of Simon, wrapped up the day’s work by emphasising the technical skills of appropriate media quality photography, as well as the practice of the compilation of comprehensible articles. The Workshops, funded by ECEZ, are designed to enhance the field skills of the Trust’s Officers in order that the goal of effective implementation is met.
