Kirimuva and Hlanganani community market gardens have received a remarkable boost courtesy of the Sally Foundation.

Both gardens have received their first batch of three-week-old broiler birds. Significantly, Hlanganani's batch of chickens emanates from a loan agreement that will translate to a revolving fund for future garden projects in Bulawayo. The chicken projects are expected to be a financial game-changer.

The introduction of this chicken-rearing initiative comes as a beacon of hope for the gardens, which have been working tirelessly to achieve self-sustainability and improve the nutritional well-being of
their beneficiaries.

The quick turnaround cycle of broiler production, coupled with the potential for increased protein intake, has ignited a sense of excitement and optimism within the community.

"This chicken project is a true testament to the power of community collaboration," expressed Mr Mpofu, the chairman of Kirimuva. "The Sally Foundation's generosity has not only provided us with a valuable resource but has also inspired a renewed sense of purpose and determination within our garden."

With the promise of a sustainable food source and a reliable income stream, the Kirimuva and Hlanganani community market gardens are poised to soar to new heights.
