The Bulawayo-based dance theatre group, Jabulani Arts Academy expressed gratitude for the Zimbabwe Development and Democracy Trust's (ZDDT) support.

The group aims to entertain while also teaching people through dance and music.

The support the group receives from the ZDDT, and the Geraldine Roche Drama (GRD) has, according to Nkanyiso Ncube, the group's deputy director, given them a lot of opportunities.

"We participated in the GRD competition in 2019 and placed fourth out of a total of twelve teams. We recently won a competition in Harare against 15 other groups," he said.

According to Ncube, the dance group was started in 2017 by the charismatic Fikile Phiri as a bridal team, which afterwards attracted a lot of community support.

"The group is made up of persistent, self-driven, and hardworking young artists from all across Bulawayo. Most of the members are from Mabuthweni, Minyela, Mpopoma, and Njube. Our goal is to expand our brand internationally. Through this brand, we hope to connect with many people locally and overseas."
